  Join us for a ' Beach Happy Hour at Peter's Point on Thursday July 10th starting at 5pm.

  Bring a dish to share, a beverage of your preference, and beach chairs. We will have coolers, tables, and paper products available. Contact Nan, nan.shorethangs@gmail.com if you plan to drive on so we can save appropriate shoreside parking. We will plan to park as close to the beach access boardwalk as possible for walk-ons. Look for a silver Jeep Gladiator with AISC burgee.

  The Notice of Race (NOR) including the Course Diagram and Start Time will be posted on the 2025 Racing Page of the AISC website several days before the race. 

  All seaworthy and insured monohull sailboats are invited to race - no spinnakers, but whisker poles allowed.  Membership in the Amelia Island Sailing Club is required (annual membership $125). Provisional PHRF Rating can be provided by the AISC Race Committee, with an official PHRF Rating to be obtained from the First Coast Sailing Association (FCSA - $35).

  Here is information about the trip... 

  Rental Boats… Sea Hag Marina,  We have a boat reserved to split ($299/full day  + Fuel and Tax) – Opening day of Scallop Season (June 15th) to closing day September 10th – Full Day Rental Boat 7:00am (safe Light)-5:00pm. Max 10 people per boat.

  Bring your own Mask, Fins, Snorkel AND NET to catch the scallops or RENT everything from Sea Hag. To reserve equipment, Call (352) 498-3008 today!*

  Accommodations:  Are on your own.  Last year some stayed overnight on Sunday at Suwannee Gable Motel & Marina. There is a variety of options in Steinhattchee or nearby. The Sea Hag Marina also has Lodging, Shacks, and Motel Rooms.

• 2025 GA-FL Ocean Challenge Race

    St. Simons Island to Amelia Island

  Annual 26nm Ocean Challenge Race hosted by the Amelia Island Sailing Club (AISC). The  Race starts in the St. Simons Channel and ends in the St. Marys River Channel. Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker Classes.  Award Pennants for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers in each class.

  Registration is required for this race and registration will open when the NOR is posted approximately two months before the race. All seaworthy and insured monohull sailboats are invited to race. Official PHRF Ratings from First Coast Sailing Association (FCSA) are preferable, but in lieu of that PHRF Ratings will be assigned by the AISC Race Committee. 

  Makeup dates - if the race needs to be postponed, the two possible makeup dates are Saturday, Nov 01 or Saturday,  Nov 15. 

  Reserve your slip at Morningstar Marina, St. Simons Island for Friday night,  October 17, on the Dockwa.com website.  If a slip or mooring is needed for Saturday night after the race, here is the link to the Fernandina Harbor Marina.

  Admission to the Jekyll Island Shrimp & Grits Festival is free. However, during this event the Jekyll Island Parking fee will increase to an additional $5 per daily parking; annual passes are not impacted.
