A welcoming social club built around boating. Our sails, races, and cruises happen when member skippers invite crew aboard — no boat is necessary; just get connected and get involved.
Crew seats are arranged member-to-member — here's exactly how to get invited.
Meet local sailors, share stories, and enjoy engaging guest speakers.
Whether you want to sail as crew or bring your own boat, here's how it works.
Everything you need for a fantastic sailing lifestyle in Northeast Florida.
More than a club, we're a community of over 370 members. Forge lasting friendships on and off the water.
Friendly, well-organized handicap racing on local waters for both competitive sailors and casual racers looking to hone their skills.
Regular weekend cruises, anchorage raft-ups, and social gatherings exploring coastal rivers and inlets around Amelia Island.
Hear from fellow sailors who call AISC their home port.
“Joining AISC was the best decision I made when moving to Fernandina Beach. I didn’t own a boat, but within two weeks I was crewing on weekend sails and met wonderful lifelong friends.”
“The race series and social cruises are exceptionally well organized. Whether you are a seasoned skipper or brand new to coastal waters, the club offers an unbeatable community.”
“Didn't own a boat, but wanted to sail. AISC made it easy to connect with skippers looking for crew. Now I'm out on the water regularly!”
Everything you need to know before you cast off.
Not at all. Many of our members sail as crew and connect with skippers through the club. Whether you arrive with a boat or just a love of the water, you'll find your place — on the water and ashore.
No — AISC is the connection point, not an operator. Boats are privately owned by member skippers who choose their own crew, so no seat is ever guaranteed by the club. In practice, new members who show up to meetings and make an effort to meet skippers usually find plenty of invitations to sail.
Membership is a modest annual fee that covers you (and your family) for a full year of events, clinics, and socials. Current rates and details are listed on the Membership page.
Every level is welcome. Beginners can learn through our clinics and crew opportunities, while experienced sailors can race, cruise, and mentor. You'll be on the water before you know it.
Year-round on the waters around Amelia Island — Cumberland Sound, the Amelia and St. Marys rivers, and the Atlantic. Check the Events page for races, cruises, and social sails.
Crew seats are arranged member-to-member, so being visible and proactive is everything. Come to the monthly meeting and introduce yourself, join the members-only Facebook group and post on the crew list, and let skippers know you're available for races and cruises. Skippers regularly invite crew from exactly those connections.
Absolutely. AISC is a social club first: monthly meetings with guest speakers, trivia nights, parties, and land-based gatherings run all year, and many members participate mostly ashore. On-the-water fun is there whenever you want it — never required.
